The framework
The Everyone Succeeds Leadership Cycle
A practical pathway for leadership growth in three stages: Diagnose, Learn and Lead. In the middle, each behaviour’s Playbook takes you through five steps.
A practical pathway from insight to impact
Great leadership does not develop by chance. It develops through deliberate cycles of reflection, learning, practice and application.
The Everyone Succeeds Leadership Cycle helps leaders move from understanding their leadership behaviours to leading with confidence in real situations. At every stage, leaders are supported by purpose-built tools, templates and guided resources that make improvement practical, measurable and sustainable.

One cycle, three stages, full practical support at every step.
Rather than treating leadership development as a one-off course or isolated activity, Everyone Succeeds brings together everything leaders need to move from insight to action. It can be used by individual leaders or implemented across a school or trust, with the same Leadership Cycle underpinning both.
The cycle has three stages. Diagnose comes first. In the Learn stage, each behaviour’s Playbook takes you through five steps: Learn, Reflect, Apply, Coach and practise, and Plan. Lead is where you use the behaviour in real situations, all year.
Each step is supported by purpose-built resources that guide leaders through that phase with clarity and confidence.

1Diagnose
Identify your leadership strengths and growth areas with the self-diagnostic, 360 diagnostic and combined report, and members can use the Leadership Focus Triad.
Use these tools, alongside reflection and coaching conversations, to understand your profile across the 54 behaviours and decide where to focus next. Use the Leadership Focus Triad to select the behaviours most relevant to your current role and challenge.

2Learn
Build deep understanding through the book, Everyone Succeeds: 54 Leadership Behaviours to Transform Your School.
Explore each behaviour through research, examples and practical insight from schools and businesses. Learn what effective leadership looks like in practice, and which habits and actions make the greatest difference.

3Reflect
Apply ideas to your own context using the workbook, Everyone Succeeds Workbook.
Use guided prompts, practical tasks and structured planning to analyse your leadership and turn insight into clear next steps. The workbook provides space to make sense of each behaviour in your own setting.

4Apply
Put behaviours into practice through the toolkit in each Playbook.
Use realistic leadership challenges linked to each behaviour, supported by modelled examples and structured prompts. Build confidence by translating ideas into daily leadership practice.

5Coach and practise
Strengthen behaviours through the coach and practise section of each Playbook.
Develop behaviours deliberately through action steps, reflection questions and focused rehearsal. Use them independently or with a colleague or coach to embed habits over time.

6Plan
Turn improvement into measurable progress with the 90-Day Leadership Planner.
Choose a challenge you can influence, set a clear goal, and define the Key Results and Lead Measures that will drive success. Use 30, 60 and 90-day checkpoints to stay focused and track impact.

7Lead
Apply your learning to real situations through the Leadership Challenge Finder.
Explore 64 leadership challenges and identify the behaviours that will help you respond with clarity and confidence. Practise decision making, prepare for challenging moments, and lead with consistency across your school.

A framework designed to be used, not just understood
The Everyone Succeeds Framework is not linear and not something leaders complete once.
It is a repeatable cycle that leaders return to as roles change, challenges evolve, and responsibility grows. Each time through the cycle, understanding deepens, practice sharpens, and leadership impact increases.
