Y9. Build Habits That Last – Coach and Practice
This behaviour develops a leader’s ability to turn positive intentions into consistent, automatic behaviours.

Helping leaders design small, sustainable routines that drive continuous improvement.

Purpose
To make effective behaviours effortless and long-lasting through deliberate habit design.
| Action Steps | Key Questions | Practice |
| Start small. | What one new habit would have the biggest positive impact? | Ask the leader to choose one micro-habit and describe what success looks like in a week. |
| Anchor to existing routines. | What current action could this habit attach to? | Practise creating an implementation sentence: “After I do X, I will do Y.” |
| Make progress visible. | How will you track and celebrate consistency? | Ask the leader to design a simple visual tracker or checklist and test it for a fortnight. |
| Reflect on resistance. | What stops your habits sticking? | Practise talking through barriers such as time, motivation, or fear of judgement, and plan adjustments. |
