C6. Seek Inspiration – Coach and Practice
This behaviour develops a leader’s ability to remain curious, outward-facing, and open to learning from others.

Behaviour focus
Supporting leaders to draw insight from other schools, sectors, and disciplines to drive innovation and growth.

Purpose
To prevent stagnation by ensuring that leaders and teams continually learn from fresh perspectives.
| Action Steps | Key Questions | Practice |
| Identify sources of inspiration. | Who or what outside your setting could you learn from? | Ask the leader to list three potential sources (schools, books, people). Choose one and plan a visit or call. |
| Translate learning into action. | How does this idea apply to our context? | Practise explaining a new idea to staff, connecting it directly to school goals. |
| Share discoveries. | How will you spread new insights across your team? | Practise presenting one key learning in a two-minute “inspiration share” at a meeting. |
| Keep curiosity alive. | How can you build habits of continual learning? | Ask the leader to schedule one inspiration activity per term (a visit, article, or podcast) and to share what they learn with colleagues. |
